Género: el dilema de su aprendizaje Fernández Matarrita, Clarita learning gender identity socialization process socializing agents methodology Didáctica identidad de género proceso de socialización agentes socializadores metodología This paper presents a learning experience that was carried out as part of the eight grade's Citizen Education curriculum, at Saint Francis College in Costa Rica, between years 2009 and 2012. This experience was possible due to a mixed methodology that allowed to analyze and question the social structures that have built the gender perspective, and the influence of the socializing agents to who these students and their families have been exposed. This sought to generate awareness of the impact of these agents on the construction of their identity. It shows how students recognize the intervention of the socialization process, by using everyday examples, and how these affect their criteria about gender identity. Este artículo presenta una experiencia didáctica realizada como parte del currículo de Educación Cívica Costarricense de octavo año, llevada a cabo en el Saint Francis College de Costa Rica, entre los años 2009 y 2012. La experiencia se valió de una metodología mixta para analizar y cuestionar las estructuras sociales con las que se ha construido la visión de género, y la influencia de los agentes socializadores a los que han estado expuestos los estudiantes de éste nivel y sus respectivas familias. Lo anterior buscó generar consciencia del impacto de dichos agentes en la construcción de su identidad. Se muestra cómo los estudiantes reconocen la intervención del proceso de socialización, mediante el uso de ejemplos cotidianos, y cómo estos afectan sus criterios alrededor de la identidad de género.
