Through a qualitative study of the phenomenological paradigm, with the focus group technique, the need for educational transformations was shown, such as the use of cinema for the explanation of historical processes, since through said tool it distances the recurrence of common teaching practices such as the use of textbooks, among others.The main finding of the research was the use of various strategies that enable a historical education in the student body such as cinema. Se presenta un estudio sobre el uso del cine en la asignatura de Estudios Sociales, que tuvo como propósito describir la utilización de filmes para la explicación e interpretación de los procesos históricos, por parte del profesorado de Estudios Sociales. La investigación partió de diversas consideraciones teórico-metodológicas donde se muestra el cine en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la historia, en la que se manifiesta la construcción de un pensamiento crítico y conciencia histórica del personal docente. Por medio de un estudio cualitativo de paradigma fenomenológico, con la técnica de grupo focal se mostró la necesidad de transformaciones educativas como lo es la aplicación del cine para la explicación de los procesos históricos, ya que por medio de dicha herramienta se superan prácticas tradicionales de la docencia. El principal hallazgo de la investigación fue el aprovechamiento de diversas estrategias que posibiliten una educación histórica en el estudiantado como lo es el cine. Apresenta-se um estudo sobre o uso do cinema na disciplina de Estudos Sociais, cujo objetivo foi descrever o uso do cinema para a explicação e interpretação de processos históricos, pelos professores de Estudos Sociais que promovem a construção do pensamento crítico em o corpo discente. A pesquisa partiu de várias considerações teórico-metodológicas onde se mostra a eficácia do cinema nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem da história, em que se manifesta a construção do pensamento crítico e da consciência histórica. Por meio de um estudo qualitativo do paradigma fenomenológico, com a técnica de grupo focal, mostrou-se a necessidade de transformações educacionais, como o uso do cinema para a explicação de processos históricos, pois por meio dessa ferramenta distância a recorrência de práticas pedagógicas comuns como o uso de livros didáticos, entre outros.O principal achado da pesquisa foi a utilização de diversas estratégias que possibilitam uma formação histórica no corpo discente como o cinema.
