These three texts offer a representation of the following components of the literary phenomenon: the writer (conceived as a miserable, poor, and suffering being), the reader (someone who suffers when reading), the text (a kind of executioner influencing the reader negatively), and the reading process (a condemning act). Se lleva a cabo un análisis del modo de entender la literatura misma en los cuentos «Fotos», «Dentista» y «Encuentro con Enrique Lihn», de Roberto Bolaño. Los tres muestran una representación de los siguientes componentes del fenómeno literario: el escritor (concebido como un ser desgraciado, pobre y sufriente), el lector (persona que sufre al leer), el texto (especie de verdugo que influye sobre el lector de forma negativa) y el proceso de la lectura (un acto condenatorio).
