Describe los patrones migratorios que moldearon el perfil demográfico de la vertiente caribe de Costa Rica en la primera mitad del siglo XX, para luego analizar los papeles de genero y las formas de parentesco que imperaban entre los pobladores de la zona, en relación con la organización de la labor productiva y reproductiva en la misma.
