It caused that the celebration of the independence of Costa Rica, in its «Limonense» variant, was different from the one celebrated in the main cities of the Central Valley. The written press releases that are presented below give a sample of how this national holiday was celebrated by the city of Limón and of the rejection speeches —from the Central Valley— towards Limón, its inhabitants and how they celebrated the festival. Durante el periodo establecido, la comarca y posterior ciudad de Limón se constituyó en una zona sociocultural diversa por la migración heterogénea que pobló sus tierras. Esto ocasionó que la fiesta de la independencia de Costa Rica, en su variante limonense, fuera distinta a la celebrada en las principales ciudades del Valle Central. Las notas de prensa escrita que se presentan a continuación dan una muestra de cómo se celebró esta fiesta patria en la ciudad de Limón y de los discursos de rechazo —provenientes del Valle Central— hacia Limón, sus habitantes y la forma en que celebraron la fiesta. Durante o período estabelecido, a região e posteriormente a cidade de Limón tornou-se uma área sociocultural diversa devido à migração heterogênea que povoou suas terras. Isto fez com que a festa da independência da Costa Rica, em sua variante Limonense, fosse diferente da celebrada nas principais cidades do Vale Central. Os comunicados de imprensa escritos que a seguir se apresentam dão uma amostra da forma como foi celebrado este feriado nacional na cidade de Limón e dos discursos de rejeição —do Vale Central— à Limón, aos seus habitantes e à forma como celebravam o festival.
