Las notas de prensa que a continuación se presentan, dan muestra de las contradicciones o, más bien, los controvertidos discursos de corte neoliberal y conservador que llenaron páginas y dominaron el discurso y orientación editorial de los medios de comunicación, en el marco del movimiento de huelga protagonizado por los trabajadores de los ingenios azucareros de la Central Azucarera del Tempisque, Sociedad Anónima (CATSA), durante la década de 1970.
