All these features can be defined under the concept known as gentrification. This case study provides elements to discuss the characteristics of the process of gentrification from a Latin American perspective.       La colonia Condesa, localizada en el área central de la Ciudad de México, ha sido un espacio que ha sufrido cambios en el uso del suelo de los predios, al pasar de uso habitacional a uso comercial y de oficinas, así como cambios sociodemográficos y una visible transformación de la imagen de la colonia; todas estas características pueden ser definidas bajo el concepto conocido como gentrificación. Este caso de estudio aporta elementos para discutir las características del proceso de gentrificación desde el ámbito latinoamericano. La colonia Condesa, localizada en el área central de la Ciudad de México, ha sido un espacio que ha sufrido cambios en el uso del suelo de los predios, al pasar de uso habitacional a uso comercial y de oficinas, así como cambios sociodemográficos y una visible transformación de la imagen de la colonia; todas estas características pueden ser definidas bajo el concepto conocido como gentrificación. Este caso de estudio aporta elementos para discutir las características del proceso de gentrificación desde el ámbito latinoamericano.
