Drinking Water Aqueducts Sanitation Systems Investment and Lag Spatial Distribution In this document, we present the case of the state of the current availability of the systems of water supply and sanitation in Costa Rica, with emphasis on the areas covered by the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA), the lag and amounts of investment needed in addition to the programs and projects outlined for improving the current conditions, this from the territorial point of view. The analysis was done using the spatial lag of the information on systems in several studies of the institution and the projects proposed for their solution, using tools of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). En este documento, se presenta el caso del estado de la disponibilidad actual de los sistemas de abastecimiento de agua potable y saneamiento en Costa Rica, con énfasis en las áreas cubiertas por el Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA), en el rezago y en las necesidades económicas de inversión, además de focalizarse en los programas y proyectos planteados para mejorar las condiciones actuales, esto desde el punto de vista territorial. El análisis se realiza mediante la espacialización de la información sobre el rezago de los sistemas en varios estudios de la institución y los proyectos planteados para su solución, con el uso de herramientas de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG). En este documento, se presenta el caso del estado de la disponibilidad actual de los sistemas de abastecimiento de agua potable y saneamiento en Costa Rica, con énfasis en las áreas cubiertas por el Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA), en el rezago y en las necesidades económicas de inversión, además de focalizarse en los programas y proyectos planteados para mejorar las condiciones actuales, esto desde el punto de vista territorial.
