Se inicia el trabajo con una caracterización global de las teorías para plantear posteriormente las especificidades regionales. Esta presentación permite diferenciar las especificidades de estos paradigmas cuando han debido abordar el problema de desarrollo regional. Conocidas las diferencias se hace una evaluación de las teorías regionales, se comparan para enfatizar las diferencias y señalar observaciones, lo que permite reflexionar sobre el desarrollo regional y la planificación en las condiciones en la cual se trata de contextualizar las teorías analizadas.
