Images from the Landsat 5 and 8 satellites were used, whose results indicate that changes in land use are contributing to the water stress of the vegetation present there, and the spatial behavior of LST and TVDI indicates that the creation of the Park was an efficient practice in the preservation of the biome, concluding that they are timely indicators for the monitoring and management of public agencies to monitor human activities. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la variación de la Temperatura Superficial Terrestre (LST) y del Índice de Sequedad Térmica (TVDI) en la sub-cuenca hidrográfica que abastece al municipio de Paracatu, Brasil, y al Parque Estatal de Paracatu, ubicado en el interior de la cuenca y creado para preservar el bioma cerrado, restringido actividades agrícolas y garantizando los recursos hídricos para el abastecimiento público local. Fueron utilizadas imágenes de los satélites Landsat 5 y 8, cuyos resultados indican que los cambios en el uso del suelo están contribuyendo al estrés hídrico de la vegetación allí presente, y el comportamiento espacial de la LST y TVDI indica que la creación del Parque fue una práctica eficiente en la preservación del bioma, concluyendo que son indicadores oportunos para el monitoreo y gestión de organismos públicos para monitorear actividades humanas. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a variação da Temperatura da Superfície Terrestre (TST) e do Índice de Seca Térmica (TVDI) na sub-bacia hidrográfica que abastece o município de Paracatu, Brasil, e o Parque Estadual de Paracatu, localizado no interior da bacia e criado para preservar o bioma fechado, restringindo as atividades agrícolas e garantindo recursos hídricos para abastecimento público local. Foram utilizadas imagens dos satélites Landsat 5 e 8, cujos resultados indicam que as mudanças no uso do solo estão contribuindo para o estresse hídrico da vegetação ali presente, e o comportamento espacial do LST e TVDI indica que a criação do Parque foi uma prática eficiente na preservação do bioma, concluindo que são indicadores oportunos para o monitoramento e gestão dos órgãos públicos de monitoramento das atividades humanas.
