El texto analiza las relaciones económicas, históricas, políticas, sociales y pedagógicas que ha tenido la institución educativa con el desarrollo histórico de la economía-mundo capitalista, estableciendo una lectura dialéctica que permite comprender la exclusión del sistema educativo formal costarricense en jóvenes entre 12 y los 18 años de edad entre los años 2000 y 2010.
