This short story is analyzed based on Freud's ideas about anxiety and the uncanny; this is done without pretending a full understanding of both the reference texts as well as the Poe's short story. In these texts, there are dark and mysterious spaces, and points that bother and are actually of interest in this analysis. Este ensayo presenta un análisis del cuento "El Barril de Amontillado" de Edgar Allan Poe desde una perspectiva psicoanalítica. Se trata de leer este pequeño relato a la luz de las ideas de Freud sobre la angustia y sobre lo ominoso sin la pretención de comprender en su totalidad tanto los textos como el relato de Poe.
