spelling ENSAYOSP203182024-10-04T22:39:55Z Economic, Socio-affective and Academic Challenges of Returning to Face-to-Face Education Post-COVID-19: Students’ Experience Desafíos económicos, socioafectivos y académicos del regreso a la educación presencial pos-COVID-19: experiencia del estudiantado Guillén Cordero, Norieth COVID-19 impact on education post-COVID-19 face-to-face education challenges return to face-to-face education virtual education desafíos educación presencial pos-COVID-19 educación virtual impacto del COVID-19 en la educación regreso a la educación presencial The objective of this paper is to describe the main challenges that the students of the Escuela de Secretariado Profesional (ESP) of the Universidad Nacional (UNA) of Costa Rica have experienced when returning to the face-to-face modality after having completed their studies through virtuality for two years, as a result of the adjustments that were necessary in education due to the COVID-19 global pandemic; in addition, it is sought to know what strategies the ESP has adopted to favor the process of integrating students into face-to-face classes and what other curricular changes have been made to facilitate this population to continue their studies in the best way. The essay shows that the main challenges of returning to in-person education are categorized as economic, socio-affective, and academic. Among the actions promoted by the ESP to facilitate the students’ transition, there is the unification of days for virtual classes and the incorporation of new modalities in the curriculum. El objetivo de este ensayo es describir cuáles han sido los principales desafíos que ha experimentado el estudiantado de la Escuela de Secretariado Profesional (ESP) de la Universidad Nacional (UNA) de Costa Rica, al regresar a la modalidad presencial después de haber cursado sus estudios por medio de la virtualidad durante dos años, a raíz de los ajustes que fue necesario implementar en la educación por la pandemia mundial del COVID-19, además, se busca conocer qué estrategias ha adoptado la ESP para favorecer el proceso de integración del estudiantado a las clases presenciales y qué otras medidas de flexibilidad curricular se han tomado para facilitar a esta población la continuidad de sus estudios de la mejor manera. El ensayo evidencia que los principales retos del regreso a la presencialidad se categorizan en: económicos, socioafectivos y académicos. Entre las acciones impulsadas por la ESP para facilitar la transición del estudiantado, está la unificación de días para clases virtuales y la incorporación de nuevas modalidades en el plan de estudios.
