In the education sector, schools and teachers are adapting and will continue to evolve to prepare new generations of students adequately. This essay focuses on analyzing the factors that impact the construction of digital teacher identity, using Fred Korthagen’s onion model as a starting point. Challenges such as changing teacher roles, continuing education, the development of digital educational communities, and the need for more reflective practice in initial training are discussed. It is concluded that the construction of a digital teaching identity implies generating transformations through the integration of digital technologies in the classroom, balancing pedagogical and technological components to create radically new learning environments. La disrupción tecnológica está transformando las visiones del mundo, al facilitar el acceso al conocimiento, modificar las interacciones sociales y reconfigurar las identidades. En el sector educativo, las escuelas y el profesorado están adaptándose y continuarán en evolución para preparar adecuadamente a las nuevas generaciones de estudiantes. Este ensayo se centra en analizar los factores que inciden en la construcción de la identidad docente digital, al utilizar como punto de partida el modelo cebolla de Fred Korthagen. Se discuten desafíos como el cambio de roles del profesorado, la formación continua, el desarrollo de comunidades educativas digitales y la necesidad de mayor práctica reflexiva en la formación inicial. Se concluye que la construcción de la identidad docente digital implica generar transformaciones a través de la integración de tecnologías digitales en las aulas, equilibrando los componentes pedagógicos y tecnológicos para crear entornos de aprendizaje radicalmente nuevos.
