Análisis en el primer año de tres universidades argentinas Zapico, Martin Gonzalo Zapico, Marcos Gabriel creencias epistemológicas educación superior análisis descriptivo epistemological beliefs higher education descriptive analysis The relationship between preconceptions about knowledge, epistemological beliefs and learning possibilities is a relevant problem to be studied when trying to alleviate the very characteristic dropout of the first year in higher education. In addition, a better knowledge of these preconceptions also facilitates the work of vocational guidance teams. In this article, we propose to investigate the differences between the prior beliefs of students who have chosen majors in Social Sciences and those who have chosen majors in Exact Sciences. For this purpose, the results obtained in an inventory of epistemological beliefs will be compared between the two defined groups, using statistical tools. The results indicate that there is at least a partial and significant influence of prior beliefs on knowledge as a function of the chosen orientation. Las relaciones entre preconcepciones sobre el conocimiento, o creencias epistemológicas, y las posibilidades de aprendizaje son una problemática de estudio relevante a la hora de tratar de paliar el abandono tan característico del primer año en los estudios de nivel superior. Además, un conocimiento más acabado de dichas creencias también facilita los trabajos de los equipos de orientación vocacional. En este artículo, se indagará sobre las diferencias entre las creencias previas en estudiantes que han elegido carreras de ciencias sociales y los que han elegido carreras de ciencias exactas. Para dicho propósito, se compararán los resultados obtenidos en un inventario de creencias epistemológicas entre los dos grupos definidos, a través de herramientas estadísticas. Los resultados indican que hay una influencia al menos parcial y significativa de las creencias previas sobre el conocimiento en función de la orientación elegida.
