In the search of alternative educational models, these reflections take stand from a critical perspective to propose a pedagogical epistemology free from the oppressive conditions still found in the Costa Rican music field. Este trabajo pretende generar una revisión crítica del modelo pedagógico que ha imperado en Costa Rica para la educación musical, especialmente, a partir de la denominada “reforma cultural” de inicios de la década de 1970. En la búsqueda de encontrar modelos educativos alternativos, este trabajo se plantea partir de la epistemología de una pedagogía crítica que intente desarrollar una propuesta dirigida a la liberación de las condiciones de opresión que aún presentan las realidades musicales costarricenses.
