Guillermo Ramírez Saravia (1949-2018), in order to offer an analysis of educational value about his outstanding and interesting student, work, teaching and intellectual experience as a writer of textbooks. This work takes into account the context of the teaching of cost accounting in the last 5 decades for the Costa Rican case and the weight of the figure of Ramírez in this technical field of specialization. La presente memoria es basada en una entrevista semiestructurada realizada al Lic. Guillermo Ramírez Saravia (1949-2018), con el fin de ofrecer un análisis de valor educativo sobre su destacada e interesante experiencia estudiantil, laboral, docente e intelectual como escritor de libros de texto. El trabajo toma en cuenta el contexto de la enseñanza de la contabilidad de costos en las últimas cinco décadas, para el caso costarricense y el peso de la figura de Ramírez en este campo técnico de especialización.
