This paper studies the process experienced by graduate students and the academic staff in the Licentiate level [university degree between the Bachelor’s and the Master’s] during the execution of their final graduation projects in the Basic Education Division. The need to evaluate the process results from a continuing reflection by the Division’s Administration. In order to understand the information obtained from the database, data was grouped by academic programs with the purpose of analyzing their individual processes. Using the Pearson´s chi-square test, results show that there are significant differences (p≤ 0.05) between final graduation projects for the different programs. Due to these results, it is necessary to identify the factors that differentiate the programs and that promote the successful conclusion of the final graduation project. Recibido 23 de agosto de 2013 • Corregido 2 de marzo de 2014 • Aceptado 2 de abril de 2014 Este artículo reconoce el proceso que vive el estudiantado del nivel de licenciatura y el personal académico durante la ejecución de los trabajos finales de graduación (TFG) en la División de Educación Básica (DEB). La necesidad de valorar el proceso surge de una reflexión continua de la gestión de la División. Para comprender la información compilada en las bases de datos, estos se agruparon por carreras con la intención de indagar sobre los procesos individuales que surgen a lo interno de estas. Los resultados de este estudio muestran que existen diferencias significativas utilizando la prueba Chi cuadrado de Pearson (p≤ 0.05) entre el estado de los TFG de las diferentes carreras. A raíz de los resultados se vislumbra la necesidad de identificar factores diferenciales entre las carreras que promueven la culminación exitosa de los estudiantes en los procesos de investigación.
