To identify how social skills, psychological well-being, and academic performance are related in a private university in Chimbote, Peru. Methodology. A correlational-transversal study was conducted on 313 students from the Professional School of Education. The study implemented inventory instruments of social situations (ISS) and Ryff’s psychological well-being scales. In addition, students’ average note for the 2018-II semester was obtained. Results. The results reported that the higher the social skills and the greater the psychological well-being, the higher the academic performance (R = 0.60 and 0.71, p <0.05). Likewise, the higher the social skills, the greater the psychological well-being (R = 0.52, p <0.05). As well, the level of social skills and psychological well-being presented a low level (33.54% and 34.18%, respectively), while academic performance was at a medium level (42.49%). Conclusion. University students presented a deficit at the levels of study variables; at the same time, a positive relationship does exist between them. Objetivo: Identificar cómo se relacionan las habilidades sociales, bienestar psicológico y rendimiento académico en personas universitarias de una Universidad Privada de Chimbote. Metodología. Estudio correlacional-transversal, donde participaron 313 estudiantes de la Escuela Profesional de Educación, se les aplicaron los instrumentos de Inventarios de situaciones sociales (ISS) y bienestar psicológico de Ryff; además se obtuvo su nota promedio del semestre 2018-II. Resultados. Los resultados reportaron que a mayor habilidades sociales y bienestar psicológico mayor es el rendimiento académico (r =0,60 y 0,71; p<0.05); asimismo, a mayores habilidades sociales mayor es el bienestar psicológico (r=0,52; p<0,05). Asimismo, el nivel de habilidades sociales y bienestar psicológico presentaron un nivel bajo (33,54% y 34,18%, respectivamente), mientras que, nivel medio en rendimiento académico (42,49%). Conclusión. Las personas universitarias presentaron un déficit en los niveles de las variables de estudio; asimismo, que sí existe relación positiva entre ellas. Resumo: Objetivo. Identificar a relação entre competências sociais, bem-estar psicológico e desempenho acadêmico de estudantes universitários numa universidade privada em Chimbote, Peru. Metodologia. Estudo correlacional transversal, com a participação de 313 estudantes da escola profissional de educação, aos quais foram administrados o Inventário de Situações Sociais (ISS) e os instrumentos de bem-estar psicológico de Ryff. Além disso, foi obtida a sua nota média para o semestre de 2018-II. Resultados. Os resultados relataram que quanto maiores forem as competências sociais e o bem-estar psicológico, maior será o desempenho acadêmico (r=0,60 e 0,71; p<0,05). Da mesma forma, quanto maiores forem as competências sociais, maior será o bem-estar psicológico (r=0,52; p<0,05). Do mesmo modo, o nível de competências sociais e bem-estar psicológico era baixo (33,55% e 34,19%, respectivamente), enquanto o nível de desempenho acadêmico era médio (42,49%). Conclusão. Os estudantes universitários apresentaram um défice nos níveis das variáveis de estudo; do mesmo modo, existe uma relação positiva entre eles.
