Una aproximación desde los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible Jiménez-Castillo, Manuel A Capabilities Human Development Inequality Sustainability Capacidades Desarrollo Humano Desigualdad Sostenibilidad In this work we attempt to shed light on how severe inequality that highly affect Mexican north border determinate the fulfillment of sustainable development goals. Throughout “resilience” and “power asymmetry” it will be examined how inequality works as a pernicious political actor mitigating the natural sense of political action. To this end, the top 5 SDG with the longer inequality incidence are statistically treated to reflect the real state of fulfillment. Similarly, it will be conceptualized inequality effects on those public politics aimed to accomplish such ends. We conclude corroborating the persistence of a perverse effect provoked by inequality and how its effects alter the nature of such policies designed to achieve sustainable development goals. Este trabajo pretende arrojar luz sobre cómo la extrema desigualdad que aflige a la frontera norte mexicana condiciona el cumplimiento de los objetivos del desarrollo sostenible. A través de los conceptos de “resilencia” y de “asimetría de poder” se examinará como la desigualdad actúa como un pernicioso actor político descompensando el sentido originario de la acción política. A tal fin, se toman cinco de los ODS con mayor incidencia sobre la desigualdad para conocer el estado real de su cumplimiento. Igualmente se conceptualizará los efectos potenciales de la desigualdad a la hora de alcanzar tales fines. Se concluirá aseverando sobre la existencia de un efecto perverso de la desigualdad sobre aquellas políticas dadas a convertir los logros del milenio en un asunto sostenible.
