La nueva ley de valores establece una serie de parámetros requeridos para el desarrollo del mercado de valores, enmarcado dentro de una mejor regulación y mayor seguridad para los inversionistas. En general establece las bases para pasar a una nueva etapa de desarrollo del sistema financiero, donde el énfasis será el mercado de largo plazo. Asimismo, la propuesta de la Bolsa Nacional de Valores para desarrollar el mercado accionario se ha transformado en un mecanismo complementario a ese cometido, donde la actuación de la Superintendencia General de Valores ha buscado catalizar ese proceso.
