The research design was phenomenological, so it was considered that the most appropriate instrument was the in-depth interview. The research subjects were six students with visual impairment, three women and three men, with blindness and low vision, enrolled in III Cycle and in diversified education, in the Costa Rican public educational system and that at the time of the research, in parallel, they received support from the Helen Keller National Education Center. Among the main findings is the importance of cooperative work among the support networks that students with visual impairment must have to face combined education with probability of success, and the emergence of a new social gap in families brought by the pandemic, that is, that which is related to the lack of connectivity and technological resources. One of the main conclusions that the research found is that students with visual impairments cannot be located in one of the particular settings for the combined education proposed by the Ministry of Public Education, as they require different formats at the time of presenting the didactic material for them to have access to an education that adjusts to their visual condition. El objetivo de este estudio, consistió en analizar el impacto producido en el acceso a la educación, del estudiantado con discapacidad visual de III ciclo y educación diversificada en la educación pública de Costa Rica, durante el curso lectivo 2020, como consecuencia de la COVID-19. El diseño de la investigación fue fenomenológico, por lo que se consideró que el instrumento más adecuado, era la entrevista a profundidad. Los sujetos de la investigación fueron seis personas estudiantes con discapacidad visual: tres mujeres y tres hombres, con condición de ceguera y de baja visión matriculados en III ciclo y en educación diversificada, en el sistema educativo público costarricense y que al momento de la investigación, paralelamente, recibían apoyo del Centro Nacional de Educación Helen Keller. Entre los principales hallazgos se encuentra la importancia del trabajo cooperativo entre las redes de apoyo con las que debe de contar el estudiantado con discapacidad visual, para enfrentarse con probabilidad de éxito a la educa- ción combinada y el surgimiento de una nueva brecha social en las familias por motivo de la pandemia, es decir, relacionada con la falta de conectividad y recursos tecnológicos. Una de las principales conclusiones que evidenció la investigación, es que el estudiantado con disca- pacidad visual, no puede estar ubicado en uno de los escenarios particulares, para la educación combinada propuestos por el Ministerio de Educación Pública, debido a requiere diversos formatos al momento de presentarle el material didáctico, para que así pueda tener acceso a una educación que se ajuste a su condición visual. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar o impacto produzido no acesso à educação, dos alunos do terceiro ciclo e da educação diversificada com deficiência visual na educação pública na Costa Rica, durante o ano letivo de 2020, em decorrência do COVID- 19. A pesquisa o desenho foi fenomenológico, por isso considerou-se que o instrumento mais adequado era a entrevista em profundidade. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram seis alunos com deficiência visual, três mulheres e três homens, com cegueira e baixa visão, matriculados no Ciclo III e na educação diversificada, da rede pública costarriquenha de ensino e que à época da pesquisa, paralelamente, eles rece- beram apoio do Centro Nacional de Educação Helen Keller. Entre os principais achados está a importância do trabalho cooperativo entre as redes de apoio que os alunos com deficiência visual devem ter, para enfrentar a educação combinada com probabilidade de sucesso e o surgimento de uma nova lacuna social nas famílias devido à causa de uma pandemia, ou seja, o que está relacionado à falta de conectividade e recursos tecnológicos. Uma das principais conclusões que a pesquisa mostrou é que os alunos com deficiência visual não podem se localizar em um dos ambientes particulares, para o ensino misto proposto pelo Ministério da Educação Pública, por exigir formatos diferenciados no momento da apresentação do material didático material, para que você tenha acesso a uma educação adequada à sua condição visual.
