Since the founders of sociology, legal problems have been one of the topics explained in their different works, thus the law-society relationship has become more solid in the modern era. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the different debates that have arisen around this issue, promoted by the branch of sociology of law and its importance in explaining the normativity of societies. La sociología del derecho es una rama de la sociología que comenzó a tomar importancia a mediados del siglo XIX en Europa, posteriormente lo hizo en Estados Unidos y América Latina. Desde los fundadores de la sociología, los problemas jurídicos han sido uno de los temas explicados en sus diferentes obras, de esta manera la relación derecho-sociedad se ha vuelto más sólida en la era moderna. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del artículo es analizar los diferentes debates surgidos en torno a esta problemática, promovidos desde la rama de la sociología del derecho y su importancia para explicar la normatividad en las sociedades.
