For this, a compilation of cientific documents have been created, considering various authors. These socioeconomic constructs have been suggested through content and contingency analysis, in addition to their connection to other disciplines, especially to a third generation future oriented approach. As a final result, ten theoretical underpinnings have been presented, that are characteristic of socioeconomic research. El siguiente documento tiene como objetivo, sintetizar las principales características del paradigma socioeconómico, para ello se recopilan estudios científicos de diversos autores. Mediante un análisis de contenido y de contingencia, se plantean las bases de un constructo socioeconómico y las relaciones existentes con otras disciplinas; sobre todo la prospectiva de tercera generación. Como resultado final se exponen los diez pilares teóricos, que caracterizan una investigación como socioeconómica. Universidad de El Salvador.
