This paper makes a general review of the key aspects of the phenomenon of climate change and its effects in Central America, as well as of some regional strategies and initiatives to generate cooperative actions that seek to address this problem. Likewise, it recovers the initiatives that, within the framework of a global agenda, have recognized climate change as a global issue, and in this sense, have established a global agenda in the face of the evident conflicts represented by the sustained increase in global temperatures, with all the repercussions and implications for the population of the Central American isthmus El presente trabajo hace una revisión general de los aspectos clave, tanto en materia del cambio climático y sus efectos en Centroamérica, así como de algunas estrategias e iniciativas regionales para generar acciones en materia de cooperación, que buscan hacer frente al dicho problema. De igual forma, recupera las iniciativas que, en el marco de agenda mundial, han reconocido al cambio climático como un tema de índole global, y en ese sentido, han establecido una agenda mundial ante los evidentes conflictos que representa el incremento sostenido de las temperaturas del planeta, con todas las repercusiones e implicaciones para la población del istmo centroamericano Universidad de El Salvador.
