This research was performed in the indigenous community of Jahuara II, El Fuerte municipality in Sinaloa, México, where we performed a descriptive, observational and transversal study. The gathering of data was made through a pre-elaborated survey. 93 surveys were applied through the stratified sampling, on the use of agrochemicals near the community. Results indicate that there is a lack of knowledge on the composition and the correct application and use of the products. Due to the dependence in agricultural activity, we consider that it is very important for them to be aware of the health effects of pesticides and for produces to look for less harmful alternatives. Furthermore, we observed that the inhabitants are aware and dissatisfied by the lack of sensibility and responsibility of producers and applicants, given that they use and dispose of the products indiscriminately, very close to the households. A pesar de sus efectos ambientales y de salud pública, el uso indiscriminado de agroquímicos en la agricultura es un problema global. La presente investigación se llevó a cabo en la comunidad indígena de Jahuara II, municipio de El Fuerte, Sinaloa, México, donde se realizó un estudio descriptivo, observacional, de corte transversal. La obtención de datos fue mediante una encuesta pre elaborada. Se aplicaron 93 encuestas por medio de un muestreo estratificado acerca del uso de agroquímicos cerca de la comunidad. Los resultados indican que los habitantes tienen escaso conocimiento sobre la composición de dichos productos, así como su correcta aplicación y uso. Debido a la dependencia en la actividad agrícola, se considera que es de suma importancia conocer los efectos en la salud por uso de plaguicidas, y buscar alternativas menos dañinas. Además, se observa que los habitantes están conscientes e inconformes por la falta de sensibilidad y responsabilidad de los productores y aplicadores, dado que estos aplican y desechan estos productos de manera indiscriminada, muy cerca de las viviendas.
