For this, a methodology whose research design is mixed is implemented, at first immersion in the field is generated, with direct observation, approaching with focus groups and then working from the non- experimental transversal part, through a self-administered questionnaire made up of by socio-demographic variables. Results: there is family vulnerability, good coping with death, anger towards a deity, anger with the government, blame the health sector and proper stress management and end up resigning in faith. Concluding that; the study population assumes death as a natural aspect of life, but they feel emotional emptiness by not being able to touch, hug and say goodbye to their loved one through the vigil. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo describir el afrontamiento de los familiares y amigos cercanos ante la imposibilidad de implementar el rito del funeral de cuerpo presente ante el Covid-19. Para ello se implementa una metodología cuyo diseño de investigación es mixto, en un primer momento se genera la inmersión en el campo, con observación directa, abordándose con grupos focales para luego trabajar desde la parte no experimental transversal, a través de un cuestionario auto administrado conformado por variables socio demográficas. Resultados: se presenta vulnerabilidad familiar, buen afrontamiento ante la muerte, ira hacia una deidad, enojo con el gobierno, culpa al sector salud y adecuado manejo del estrés y terminan resignándose en la fe. Concluyendo que la población de estudio asume la muerte como un aspecto natural de la vida, pero sienten vacío emocional al no poder tocar, abrazar y despedirse del ser amado mediante la velación.
