It presents some background and critically questions the selection of the research topic, and tries to show that the researcher chooses the subject, but the subject also chooses it, if a permanent critical questioning is maintained. Este ensayo reflexiona sobre la posicionalidad del investigador entre la autoridad científica y el Estado ante la selección de un tema, en este caso, ante un proceso de investigación que pretende contribuir a la re-vitalización de la memoria histórica y bio-cultural del pueblo bokota. Presenta algunos antecedentes y cuestiona críticamente el proceso que conduce a la selección del tema de investigación, e intenta mostrar que el investigador escoge el tema, pero el tema también le elige, si se mantiene un cuestionamiento crítico permanente.
