Three Costa Rican public universities including the Universidad Nacional (UNA), the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED), and the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) at UNA’s Liberia campus housed professors, students, administrative personnel, and others who received this course from August 5th to September 9th 2011. The instruments consist of Environmental Dimension indicators designed to register and monitor the processes of this test. Since the results shown in this study are preliminary, it was possible to validate the function of the instrument through a pilot test and to detect the students’ perception of Environmental Dimension at the beginning of the course. The indicators analyzed involved aspects related to the participant’s personal and labor life. Se presentan los resultados obtenidos en la prueba pre test del instrumento Percepción de la Dimensión Ambiental, aplicado en el curso Dimensión Ambiental en el quehacer universitario, impartido por la Comisión Interuniversitaria de Educación Ambiental (CIEA-CONARE). Este curso se llevó a cabo del 5 de agosto al 9 de setiembre del 2011, para personal docente, administrativo, estudiantil y misceláneo de la Universidad Nacional (UNA), Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) y Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), en la Sede de Liberia de la UNA. El instrumento comprende los indicadores de la Dimensión Ambiental definidos para registrar y dar seguimiento a los procesos de incorporación de ésta. Se validó la funcionalidad del instrumento por medio de esta prueba piloto y para la población participante se logró identificar la percepción de la Dimensión Ambiental al inicio del curso, por lo que los resultados que se presentan son preliminares. Los indicadores analizados involucran aspectos tanto de la vida personal como laboral.
