A description of the main statements that protect the research, in addition mentions evolutionary aspects and transformers of the library system at national and regional level. Expose chronologically the typologies of public libraries, to subsequently refer the pedagogical work of these institutions. En este trabajo se analiza la escolarización de la biblioteca pública en Costa Rica, así como el funcionamiento y la gestión de estas unidades dentro de la sociedad. Realiza una descripción de las principales declaraciones que amparan la investigación, además menciona aspectos evolutivos y transformadores del sistema de biblioteca a nivel nacional y regional. Versa cronológicamente las tipologías de bibliotecas públicas, para posteriormente referirse la labor pedagógica de estas instituciones. Este artigo analisa a escolarização da biblioteca pública na Costa Rica, bem como o funcionamento e a gestão destas unidades na sociedade. Descreve as principais declarações que apoiam a investigação, e também menciona aspetos evolutivos e transformadores do sistema bibliotecário a nível nacional e regional. Examina cronologicamente as tipologias das bibliotecas públicas e, em seguida, faz referência ao trabalho pedagógico dessas instituições.
