Echolocation is an ability of dolphins, which allows them to locate objects such as rocks and other individuals, as well as prey through the emission of vibrations or high frequency pulses that bounce off the target, a prey, for example, and return as an echo, which is picked up by the emitter. This form of communication also allows the study of cetaceans in a non-invasive and sustainable way. Los cetáceos son un grupo de mamíferos adaptados para la vida acuática marina, con un sentido de la audición sumamente desarrollado que les permite comunicarse e interactuar con su medio a frecuencias altas en delfines y bajas en ballenas. La ecolocalización es una habilidad de los delfines, que les permite ubicar objetos como rocas y otros individuos, además de presasa través de la emisión de vibraciones o pulsos de alta frecuencia que rebotan con el objetivo, una presa, por ejemplo, y vuelven en forma de eco, el cual es captado por el emisor.
