However, its participation must be very responsible in order to guarantee the environmental integrity of the Kyoto protocol. El mecanismo de desarrollo limpio es un instrumento de flexibilidad que ha posibilitado la reducción de emisiones de una manera muy eficiente y, a su vez, ha estimulado un flujo creciente de inversiones y nuevas tecnologías a los países en desarrollo. Sin embargo, su participación debe ser muy responsable de cara a garantizar la integridad ambiental del Protocolo de Kioto.
