AMBIENTALES120232019-12-05T19:33:42Z Coastal Dynamics and Territorial Zoning Dinámica costera y ordenamiento territorial Brenes, Luis Guillermo Ordenamiento territorial; Costa Coastal spaces are very dynamic forms, they include the area of direct marine action or intertidal zone, including the fossilized features that are conserved as testimony of the changes in the relative sea level, this by tectonic or climatic factors that have taken place during the Quaternary. In addition, this concept includes the set of activities that on some way depend on the sea or are related to it, like fisheries, salt mines, shipyards, fishermen’s residential areas, hotels and recreational sites associated to the use of the marine resources, extending that boundary to limits very difficult to show in the continental areas. It is important to know the dynamics of these spaces and the changes induced by the man in order to handle them suitably. Costa Rica has in the regulating plans an instrument for the management of those spaces, but it is necessary to incorporate the coastal variable to improve the use of those landscapes. The geographers have made progress in the knowledge and study of that significant strip and have contributed with their knowledge to the process of land management by means of techniques and procedures that reveal the most important characteristics of the coastal environment. Los espacios litorales son formas muy dinámicas que comprenden el área de acción marina directa o intermareal, incluidos los relieves fosilizados que se conservan como testimonio de los cambios del nivel relativo del mar, sea por factores tectónicos o climáticos que han tenido lugar durante el Cuaternario. Igualmente se incluye en ese concepto al conjunto de actividades que de algún modo dependen del mar o se relacionan con él, pesquerías, salinas, astilleros, áreas de residencias de pescadores, hoteles y sitios recreativos relacio-nados con el uso de los recursos del espacio marino, extendiendo esa delimitación hasta límites muy difíciles de precisar en las áreas continentales. Es necesario el conocimiento de la dinámica de estos espacios y de los cambios que el hombre induce para poder mane-jarlos adecuadamente. Costa Rica tiene en los planes reguladores un instrumento para la ordenación de esos espacios, pero es necesario incorporar la variable costera para mejorar el uso de esos paisajes. Los geógrafos han avanzado en el conocimiento y estudio de esa franja tan significativa y aportan sus conocimientos al proceso de ordenación mediante el uso de técnicas y procedimientos que revelan las características más importantes del medio litoral.
