Bustamante, Laura Andrea Fernández, Martina Demo Di Giuseppe, Victoria University Youth Study Representations Universidad Jóvenes Estudio Representaciones This paper will report on the obtained results from our actual research project whose overall objective is to analyze the social representations of young entrants to university about college and university study. To get this objective we had been used a qualitative methodological design using as a research technique the interview on a population of admitted students at major universities in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Data were analyzed through the constant comparative method, which allowed building a semantic mapping of the main concepts associated with the University. What is distinctive in this paper is the deepening of the category representations college degree, which has been interpreted in relation to the concept of identity. We can anticipate that the title becomes a means of identity construction of young university, and as a positive element in their independence. However, we found that the establishment of the autonomy of the young man is a budding process, which is necessary to work from the universities, since it becomes a determinant for university transit psychosocial process. En este artículo daremos cuenta de los resultados obtenidos a partir de nuestro proyecto de investigación en curso, cuyo objetivo general es analizar las representaciones sociales de los jóvenes que ingresan a una carrera universitaria acerca de la universidad y del estudio universitario. Para abordar dicho objetivo se ha empleado un diseño metodológico cualitativo en donde se utiliza como técnica de investigación la entrevista, sobre una población de estudiantes ingresantes de las principales universidades de la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina. Los datos fueron analizados a través del método comparativo constante, lo que permitió construir un mapeo semántico de las principales nociones asociadas a la Universidad. Lo distintivo en este artículo es la profundización en la categoría representaciones del título universitario, la cual ha sido interpretada en relación con el concepto de identidad. Las conclusiones permiten anticipar que el título se constituye en un medio de construcción de la identidad del joven universitario y como elemento favorecedor de su independencia. Sin embargo, evidenciamos que la constitución de la autonomía del joven es un proceso incipiente, sobre el cual resulta necesario trabajar desde las universidades, puesto que la misma se torna en un proceso psicosocial determinante para el tránsito universitario.
