It was found 306 trees (greater than 10 cm DBH), with mean DBH 15,5 cm, basal area of 18,0 m2/ha, tall canopies 9,6 m, density 470 trees/ha, and a Holdridge complexity index of 7,7, indicating a well-structured fringe mangrove.       Se realizó una evaluación de las características estructurales y fisionómicas de un manglar de borde monoespecífico de Rhizophora mangle L. localizado en el extremo sur de la Península de Azuero, Panamá, en tres parcelas de 10 m x 100 m, cada una, entre época seca y lluviosa. Se contabilizaron 306 individuos con DAP promedio de 15,5 cm, área basal de 18,0 m2/ha y altura del dosel de 9,6 m, densidad de 950 ind/0,1 ha, e índice de complejidad de Holdrige de 7,7, lo que nos indica un manglar de borde bien estructurado.  Universidad de Panamá.
