Irregular migration, humanitarian crisis, xenophobia, immigration policies, brain drain and retention This document contemplates the important topic of irregular migration in Panama and the reasons why people from African and Central Asia countries have begun to appear in Panamanian territory looking for their long lasting dream: to arrive into the United States in order to improve their quality of life. This situation has the potential for chaos in Panama and the Government and society in general is urged to address the case seriously and immediately. There could be creative ways to assimilate some of this people into the country if policies well thought are created aiming at retaining talent for the country. Este documento contempla un tópico importante relacionado a la migración irregular en Panamá y las razones por las cuales personas desde países de África y Asía Central han comenzado a aparecer en el territorio panameño buscando el tan deseado sueño: llegar a los Estados Unidos en búsqueda de mejorar su calidad de vida. Esta situación puede generar un potencial caos en Panamá, y urge que tanto el Gobierno como la sociedad en general examinen este fenómeno que posee impactos socioeconómicos significativos.  Pueden establecerse mecanismos creativos para asimilar algunas de estas personas en el país con la creación de políticas que permitan la retención de talento internacional y la generación de nuevo conocimiento durante su estancia en Panamá.
