Through various theoretical approaches, we analyze the physical and moral characteristics of the three main characters of the book La Vie Scélérate in order to find the identity traits characteristic of West Indian society. Este artículo busca mostrar un panorama general del proceso de construcción de la identidad en la literatura antillana poscolonial de expresión francesa, particularmente en la obra de la escritora guadalupana Maryse Condé. A partir de diversos enfoques teóricos, se analizan las características físicas y morales de los tres personajes principales de La Vie Scélérate con el fin de revelar los rasgos identitarios propios de la sociedad antillana.
