From a critical perspective, the objective is to get closer to the work of one of the least studied writers of that generation, the poet and playwriter Alfredo Sancho. The present analysis raises the need to rescue from oblivion these types of figures who, for political and/or personal reasons, remain outside the canonical history of Costa Rican literature. It also proposes an approach to the poem "Se dice merenjunjia" from the book Cantera Bruta, based on some elements of critical analysis by López-Casanova, through which it is possible to establish a series of connections between Sancho's work and various literary movements of avant-garde. Este trabajo parte del estudio de la llamada primera generación de vanguardia literaria nacional. Desde una mirada crítica, se pretende abordar la obrade uno de los escritores menos estudiados de dicha generación, el poeta y dramaturgo Alfredo Sancho. El presente análisis plantea la necesidad de rescatar del olvido a este tipo de figuras que, por motivos políticos y/o personales, son dejados por fuera de la historia canónica de la literatura costarricense. Asimismo, propone un acercamiento al poema SE DICE MERENJUNJIA del libro Cantera Bruta, tomando como base algunos elementos de análisis crítico de López-Casanova, mediante los cuales es posible establecer una serie de conexiones entre la obra de Sancho y diferentes movimientos de vanguardia de la época.
