After a meticulous selection, this study compiled the most emblematic exponents from different places (i.e. Francophone countries, D.O.M., T.O.M.), comprised in the following six regions: Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa, (North, Caribbean, South) America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. This research project included various facets such as biographies, the classification of the most relevant authors set up by regions, main literary genres (novel, short story, poetry, etc.), the main prizes andawards granted to such writers (i.e. Goncourt, Femina, Grand Prix de la Francophonie, Grand Prix Littéraire d’Afrique noire Renaudot, and so on). Finally, a very complete bibliographical reference list was compiled in order to be consulted by experts and students on Francophone Literature at theUniversity of Costa Rica. Esta ponencia -que forma parte de un proyecto de investigación de Virginia Borloz, Mauricio Méndez y Alder Senior- presenta a los escritores y escritoras francófonos más relevantes de la primera y segunda mitad del siglo XX. Luego de una selección rigurosa, se hizo una recopilación de los exponentes más representativos de varios lugares (países francófonos, D.O.M., T.O.M.) comprendidos en las siguientes seis regiones: Maghreb, África Negra, América (Norte, Caribe y Sur), Europa, Asia y Oceanía. Esta investigación incluyó aspectos tales como: las biografías, la clasificación de los autores más importantes por regiones, los principales géneros literarios (novela, cuento, poesía, etc.), los principales premios y distinciones otorgados a dichos autores (Goncourt, Femina, Grand Prix de la Francophonie, Grand Prix Littéraire d’Afrique noire Renaudot, etc.); finalmente, se logró conformar una fuente bibliográfica de consulta, bastante completa, para las personas investigadoras y estudiantes de literatura francófona de la Universidad de Costa Rica.
