Thus, in relation to the exposed ideas, the objective of this research was to study the construction of the nation in the works El Minimum Vital by Alberto Masferrer and El Moto by Joaquín García Monge where the vision of the authors on the ideology of the nation and the characteristics of national identity through a critical stance on the liberal projects of the late nineteenth century in the Central American region. El presente artículo busca estudiar la configuración de la nación a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, relacionado con la búsqueda de una identidad nacional centroamericana. Así pues, en relación con las ideas expuestas, el objetivo de esta investigación fue estudiar la construcción de la nación en las obras El Mínimum Vital de Alberto Masferrer y El Moto de Joaquín García Monge donde se analiza la visión de los autores sobre el ideario de la nación y las características de la identidad nacional a través de una postura crítica a los proyectos liberales de finales del siglo XIX en la región centroamericana.
