The first focused on what communication represents in human beings, how it influences our world of representations and continuous learning. A chronology of the communicational stimuli that, through time, have been shaping our social learning, perceptions, motivations, attitudes and behaviors was raised. How the impacts will be determined by the conditions and circumstances of the protagonists in each environment. In turn, the quantitative research was carried out with a sample of undergraduate students from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Panama. Perceptions they had of information and communication technologies were measured, which yielded very interesting data that reflect trends in the use of them in young people who were born into the digital age. The central conclusion is that ICTs are here to stay, they evolve faster and faster and have more advantages than disadvantages. However, it is necessary to know what their disadvantages are and promote solutions that reduce their negative praxis. Interesados por investigar el papel de las tecnologías y el efecto que han jugado y juegan en los comportamientos individuales y grupales, se diseñó una estrategia investigativa en dos fases: investigación documental y cuantitativa. En la primera se enfocó lo que representa la comunicación en los seres humanos, cómo influye la misma en nuestro mundo de representaciones y aprendizajes continuos. Se levantó una cronología de los estímulos comunicacionales que, a través de tiempos, han ido conformando nuestros aprendizajes sociales, percepciones, motivaciones, actitudes y comportamientos. De cómo los impactos estarán determinados por las condiciones y circunstancias de los protagonistas en cada entorno. A su vez, la investigación cuantitativa se realizó con una muestra de estudiantes de licenciatura de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Panamá. Se midieron percepciones que tenían de las tecnologías de la información y de la comunicación, lo que arrojó datos muy interesantes que reflejan tendencias en el uso de ellas en jóvenes que nacieron dentro de la era digital. La conclusión central es que las Tics vinieron para quedarse, evolucionan cada vez en forma más rápida y presentan más ventajas que desventajas. Sin embargo, hay que conocer cuáles son sus desventajas y promover soluciones que disminuyan sus praxis negativas.
