Ambas especies muestran valores muy similares, aunque algo más ventajosos en C. dovii. Las larvas de C. dovii muestran, sin e mbargo, valores de peso fresco (6,65 contra 3,84 mg) y de porcentaje de peso seco (21,0 contra 16,7 %) iniciales significativamente superiores a las del guapote tigre. Los datos se interpretan en relación con el diferente status ecológico de ambas especies de guapote.
