It offers an analytical framework to discuss an uncertainty perspective different from those risk-focused approaches. Such reflections raise issues around the leading role of adaptive governance in dealing with emerging global crisis. It concludes with some insights about transformative change and sustainability. En este editorial se discuten estudios recientes sobre la incertidumbre y su relación con la transformación de los sistemas sociotécnicos. Se propone un marco analítico para establecer una perspectiva de la incertidumbre distinta a la que ofrecen comúnmente los enfoques centrados en el riesgo, y se incorporan elementos de los estudios del desarrollo y las transiciones sostenibles. El trabajo subraya la importancia de la gobernanza adaptativa ante las crisis globales, y concluye con una reflexión sobre la sostenibilidad y el cambio transformativo.
