By reviewing certain critical forms, between 1980 and now, an explanation is provided for some of the main mechanisms used to evaluate the intellectual and aesthetic work of regional writers, their links with the social life of Central American countries and the value attributed to their works within national traditions and in the construct of regional letters and particularly relevant speeches. Se analizan los procesos de formación del campo y el canon literario centroamericano, a partir de la crítica literaria centrada en el estudio de la violencia. Mediante la revisión de ciertas formaciones críticas, en el periodo comprendido entre 1980 y la actualidad, se explican algunos procedimientos de evaluación del quehacer intelectual y estético de los escritores regionales, de sus vínculos con la vida social de los países centroamericanos y del valor atribuido a sus obras en las tradiciones nacionales, en el constructo de unas letras regionales y unos discursos particularmente relevantes.
