In anthropology, we identify three substantial elements in the mentor-protégé relationship: the Key Informant method, the concept of Cultural or Power Broker, and the event of the Liminal Period. These roles can be culturally influenced through personal skills or by exercising authority at different social levels. The purpose of this writing is to convey relevant knowledge, experiences, and advice to the protégé as a key informant, aiming to guide, instruct, and inspire their personal, academic, and professional development. Additionally, examples of mentorship in the Ngäbe community are presented, highlighting its positive impact on the protégé; education and professional development, emphasizing the importance of trust relationships and mutual support. Kukwe ne erere kändi. Este ensayo explora los roles y características que deben tener los mentores en contextos interculturales, comparándolos con los informantes clave en la etnografía. En antropología, identificamos tres elementos sustanciales en la relación mentor-protegido: el método del Informante Clave, el concepto de Interventor Cultural o de Poder, y el evento del Período Liminal. Estos roles pueden influir culturalmente mediante habilidades personales o ejerciendo autoridad en diferentes niveles sociales. El propósito de este escrito es transmitir conocimientos, experiencias y consejos relevantes al protegido como informante clave, con el objetivo de guiar, instruir e inspirar su desarrollo personal, académico y profesional. Además, se presentan ejemplos de mentoría en la comunidad Ngäbe, destacando su impacto positivo en la educación y desarrollo profesional de los protegidos, subrayando la importancia de las relaciones de confianza y el apoyo mutuo.
