Litters of 30 sows were used for 21 days after birth. The following treatments were evaluated: TC) piglets fed only with mother's milk; PT) similar to TC plus pelleted feed; and PP) similar to TC plus porridged feed. The pellet and porridge were offered to litters from day 5 to day 21 of lactation, evaluating two experimental phases: phase 1 (F1): d5-13; and phase 2 (F2): d14-21. At the beginning and at the end of each phase, the feed consumption (CA) and weight gain (GP) in the piglets were recorded. Additionally, the CA and back fat (GD) were determined in sows. The litters fed with PP had a higher CA than the litters supplemented with PT in F1 and F2 (P<0.05). Additionally, the litters supplemented with PP had a higher GP in F2 than the litters of the TC and PT treatments (P<0.05). There were no significant differences between treatments in the AC and GD of the sows (P>0.05). The supplementation of a supplementary supplementation in the form of porridge improved the weight gain of the litters during lactation, without exerting an indirect effect on the reserve of back fat and feed intake of sow feed. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo comparar el efecto de dos tipos de alimentos, papilla versus peletizado, sobre la respuesta productiva de las camadas y su efecto indirecto sobre las cerdas. Se utilizaron las camadas de 30 cerdas, durante 21 días posterior al nacimiento. Se evaluaron los siguientes tratamientos: TC) lechones alimentados solamente con la leche materna; PT) similar a TC más alimento peletizado; y PP) similar a TC más alimento en forma de papilla. El peletizado y la papilla se ofrecieron del día 5 al día 21 de lactancia, evaluándose dos fases experimentales: fase 1 (F1): d5-13; y fase 2 (F2): d14-21. Al inicio y al final de cada fase se registró el consumo de alimento (CA) y la ganancia de peso (GP) en los lechones. Adicionalmente, se determinó el CA y la grasa dorsal (GD) en las cerdas referentes a cada tratamiento. Las camadas alimentadas con PP tuvieron un mayor CA que las camadas suplementadas con PT en la F1 y F2 (P<0.05). Adicionalmente, las camadas suplementadas con PP tuvieron una mayor GP en la F2 que las camadas de los tratamientos TC y PT (P<0.05). No hubo diferencias significativas entre tratamientos en el CA y GD de las cerdas (P>0.05).
