This research aims to conduct a descriptive assessment of its landscape value, in order to support landscape preservation and guide tourism activity planning in the region. The methodology involved data collection through online surveys, field evaluations, and collaboration with the local community. Findings revealed the delineation of five landscape units based on land use: natural forest, anthropized natural forest, agriculture, cultivated pasture, and the San Francisco community. The high visual quality and moderate landscape fragility demonstrate the great potential for tourism under careful planning and management. It is crucial to promote tourism activities focused on appreciating nature and scenic beauty, such as hiking, cycling, camping, and agrotourism, to foster a balance between environmental conservation and sustainable development. Additionally, integrating local products into the culinary offerings aimed at tourists serves as a means to support and bolster the local economy. La comunidad de San Francisco, ubicada en la provincia de Manabí, Ecuador, se enfrenta al desafío de desarrollar el turismo de manera sostenible en un entorno natural. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo principal realizar una evaluación descriptiva de su valor paisajístico, con el fin de respaldar la preservación del paisaje y orientar la planificación de actividades turísticas en la región. La metodología incluyó la recopilación de datos a través de encuesta en línea, evaluaciones en campo y colaboración con la comunidad local. Los hallazgos revelaron la delimitación de cinco unidades paisajísticas en función del uso del suelo: bosque natural, bosque natural antropizado, agricultura, pastizal cultivado y comunidad de San Francisco. La alta calidad visual y moderada fragilidad paisajística demuestran el alto potencial para el turismo bajo una planificación y gestión cuidadosa. Es crucial fomentar actividades turísticas que se centran en la apreciación de la naturaleza y la belleza paisajística, como el senderismo, ciclismo, camping y agroturismo, con el fin de promover un equilibrio entre la conservación del entorno y el desarrollo sostenible. Además, incorporar productos locales en la oferta gastronómica dirigida a los turistas, como una forma de respaldar y fortalecer la economía local. A comunidade de San Francisco, localizada na província de Manabí, Equador, enfrenta o desafio de desenvolver o turismo de forma sustentável em um ambiente natural. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal realizar uma avaliação descritiva de seu valor paisagístico, a fim de apoiar a preservação da paisagem e orientar o planejamento de atividades turísticas na região. A metodologia incluiu a coleta de dados por meio de pesquisa online, avaliações de campo e colaboração com a comunidade local. Os resultados revelaram a delimitação de cinco unidades paisagísticas com base no uso do solo: floresta natural, floresta natural antropizada, agricultura, pastagem cultivada e comunidade de San Francisco. A alta qualidade visual e a moderada fragilidade paisagística demonstram o alto potencial para o turismo sob um planejamento e gestão cuidadosos.
