In order to achieve this, the researcher first analyzed the work of the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu to build a theoretical-conceptual proposal of the citizen habitus concept. Secondly, the author conducted a qualitative content analysis of the Civic Education Syllabus to establish basic lines to set a general outlines of the citizen habitus established as expected by the Ministry of Public Education. Finally, the researcher stated a series of considerations that aim to contribute to expand the perspective of analysis, reflection, and debate in terms of the Civic Education in the educational phenomenon. En el presente artículo, se reflexiona sobre el perfil ciudadano planteado como deseable en el programa de Educación Cívica de Costa Rica, a través del concepto de habitus ciudadano constituido en el marco del estructuralismo constructivista. Para lograrlo, en una primera parte, se realiza un abordaje de la obra del autor Pierre Bourdieu, con el fin de construir una propuesta teórico-conceptual de habitus ciudadano. En un segundo momento, se desarrolla un análisis cualitativo de contenido al programa de Educación Cívica con el objetivo de establecer líneas básicas para un esbozo general del habitus ciudadano, establecido como esperable por el Ministerio de Educación Pública. Finalmente, se plantean una serie de consideraciones que buscan contribuir con la ampliación del panorama de análisis, reflexión y debate de la Educación Cívica en el fenómeno educativo.
