Their unique adaptations, such as the germination of seeds before falling from the tree, the presence of specialized roots and a special metabolism, allow them to survive in adverse conditions. However, their slow growth and constant pressure to maintain their internal equilibrium under extreme conditions make them vulnerable to threats such as logging, fire, siltation, altered salinity of estuarine water and other negative impacts from human activity. Despite these challenges, mangroves continue to play a crucial role in protecting the coastal zone. Los manglares son ecosistemas vitales, frágiles y altamente sensibles a las variaciones ambientales de su entorno. Sus adaptaciones únicas, como la germinación de semillas antes de caer del árbol, la presencia de raíces especializadas y un metabolismo especial, les permiten sobrevivir en condiciones adversas. No obstante, su lento crecimiento y la presión constante para mantener su equilibrio interno en condiciones extremas, los hacen vulnerables a amenazas como la tala, los incendios, el azolvamiento, la alteración de la salinidad del agua del estuario y otros impactos negativos derivados de la actividad humana. A pesar de estos desafíos, los manglares siguen desempeñando un papel crucial en la protección de la zona costera.
